What Information Do We Collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, post a book, or add a class. Any data we request that is not required will be specified as voluntary or optional. When registering on our site or accessing personal information, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your e-mail address. You may, however, visit our home page and contact us anonymously. All book postings and class matches are viewable only by registered members of this site.

What Do We Use Your Information For?

Any of the information we collect from you may be used in one of the following ways:

  • To improve our website (we continually strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from you)
  • To process transactions (your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the service requested by the customer).
  • To send periodic emails (the email address you provide may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your request, in addition to receiving occasional news, updates, promotions, related service information, etc.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you access your personal information.

These security measures include password protected directories and databases to safeguard your information as well as securing hashing of your password to protect against fraud. We DO NOT employ the use of Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, thus, submission of forms and passwords are at your own risk.

All information entered on our site is stored on our servers. However, we feel this information in no way compromises any confidentiality as it is given at will and therefore belongs to public domain.

Do We Use Cookies?

We do not use cookies but rather employ the use of session variables in order to enhance your user experience. Upon logging out or closing your browser, all session data will be destroyed.

Do We Disclose Any Information to Outside Parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operation our website, conducting our service, or servicing you, so as long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or other's rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Because we value your privacy, we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

As a part of the California Online Privacy Protection Act, all users of our site may make any changes to their information at anytime by changing their password via the "Change My Password" link, removing or adding classes via the "My Classes" link, removing or adding books via the "My Books" link, or completely removing themselves from our system via the "Remove Me" link. All of these links are available upon login though complete removal is also accessible without logging in.

Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance

We are in compliance with the requirements of COPPA (Childrens Online Privacy Protection Act), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products, and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years of age or older.

CAN-SPAM Compliance

We have taken the necessary steps to ensure that we are compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 by never sending out misleading information, including easily accessible opt-out instructions at the bottom of each e-mail, as well as including legitimate and identifiable contact information.
